The Differences
Now that you're familiar with what we offer let's talk about the differences between all three of our poultry nets, Standard, Premium, and Premium Plus+.
The main three differences are going to be how the polywire is applied to the fence, twisted or braided, fiberglass or PVC posts, and the variety of heights and lengths the netting comes in! Below is a table highlighting the main differences between the three!

Poultry Netting:
Our Starkline electric poultry netting is one of our best sellers! This netting is specially designed for poultry but can be used for other livestock such as sheep and goat, pigs/hogs, and more! Our Poultry netting is also great for protecting your garden from rodents such as raccoons, rabbits, and foxes. These nets however are not very effective when it comes to squirrels, groundhogs, and rats/mice. To get shocked the animal must be on the ground when touching the netting to complete the electric circuit. This makes it difficult for electric netting to be used effectively against animals like squirrels that can climb and groundhogs that can dig.
Our Starkline poultry netting has the smallest openings we offer in our electric netting, starting with 2" at the bottom of the netting and 8" at the top. Our Poultry nets come with two different kinds of posts, PVC or Fiberglass, twisted or braided polywire, and a variety of heights and lengths. Let's dive into the different kinds of poultry netting and pick the right one for you!
Standard Poultry Netting:
Let’s start with our industry-standard poultry netting.
These Poultry nets are 42” high and have two different lengths 82’ and 164’ long giving you the option to choose between a shorter or longer net. The 82’ net comes with 8 posts and the 164’ net with 15 posts. All Starkline netting can be wrapped around itself to create shorter sections if needed. Please refer to our “How to shorten your electric netting” video for a visual example. The Standard Poultry comes with PVC posts which are plastic posts that are lighter and easier to move, which can be beneficial for people who can not carry heavy equipment. However, since these posts are lighter and plastic they come with the risk of not being as sturdy as fiberglass posts. (so if your land isn’t very flat we would recommend looking into our other poultry netting options!) The Standard Poultry also comes with 10 conductive twisted polywire strands with a non-conductive black strand on the bottom of the netting. This black strand sits on the ground and allows your netting to touch the ground without “grounding out” or zapping the ground or grass below.
Recommendations: We would recommend this netting for low-key projects such as small gardens or small homesteads. We would pair this netting with our HKS200B solar energizer that can power up to one whole 164’ poultry net.
Premium Poultry Netting:
Our next category of netting is going to be our premium poultry netting!
These Poultry Nets are going to come in two different heights 42” and 48’ in three different lengths 82’ 100’ and 164’. The 82’ netting comes with 8 preinstalled fiberglass posts, the 100’ netting comes with 11 preinstalled fiberglass posts, and the 164’ netting comes with 16 preinstalled fiberglass posts. All Starkline netting can be wrapped around itself to create shorter sections if needed. Please refer to our “How to shorten your electric netting” video for a visual example. The Premium Poultry comes with fiberglass posts that are studier and allow the netting to stand better on uneven ground. Our replacement posts are fiberglass and most of our netting except for a couple of examples ( Standard Poultry and our Positive/ Negative 48’ utility netting have PVC posts) Our Premium netting is going to be bulkier than our Standard netting which allows it to be used for bigger projects. The Premium Poultry also comes with 10 horizontal twisted polywire strands and one non-conductive black strand on the bottom which allows your netting to touch the ground without “grounding out” or zapping the ground or grass below.
Recommendations: We would recommend this netting for bigger projects and homesteads. We would also recommend this netting for folks with a variety of livestock. This netting works great for sheep and goats with or without horns or like to jump as well as pigs and hogs. We recommend pairing the Premium Poultry with our S400 solar energizer that can power up to two sections of 164’ poultry netting.
Premium Plus+ Poultry Netting:
Last but not least is our Premium Plus+ poultry netting!
These Poultry nets are 48” high and have two different lengths giving you the option to choose between a shorter and longer net. The 100’ netting comes with 11 preinstalled fiberglass posts, and the 164’ netting comes with 16 preinstalled fiberglass posts. All Starkline netting can be wrapped around itself to create shorter sections if needed. Please refer to our “How to shorten your electric netting” video for a visual example. The premium plus+ poultry comes with fiberglass posts that are studier and allow the netting to stand better on uneven ground. Our replacement posts are fiberglass and most of our netting except for a couple of examples ( Standard Poultry and our Positive/ Negative 48’ utility netting) Our Premium Plus+ is by far our sturdiest and heaviest poultry netting with braided polywire making it more conductive than the previous two poultry nets. This netting is great for larger projects and more livestock. The Premium Plus+ poultry also comes with 11 horizontal braided polywire strands and one non-conductive black strand on the bottom which allows your netting to touch the ground without “grounding out” or zapping the ground or grass below.
Recommendations: We recommend this netting for larger projects with minimal movement. All of our netting can easily be portable but since this netting is heavy and sturdy it can be more difficult to move if you are not used to heavy equipment. This netting is great for multiple types of livestock such as sheep and goats, pigs and hogs, cows, etc. We recommend using our S1400 solar energizer which can power up to four poultry nets.
